The Truth Indeed Set Me Free.

About 25 years ago I sadly let go of my dream business, left NYC, and began a new business. A couple of years later, with my new business secure, I took it with me and headed for the hills.

In a short while, however, I had become cynical, resentful, and distrustful. Jon Kabat-Zinn's wise words certainly rang true, "Wherever You Go, There You Are."

In a conversation with my sister, as I was confidently telling her how rosy life can be simply by changing her perspective, she bluntly said, "Oh yeah, well if it works so well, why isn't it working for you?"

Ouch! It felt like the proverbial punch in the gut and a hard slap across the face.  I had no words.

I took her words, though, and contemplated. I looked deep within myself to find the truth that, until then, I dared not see.

Thus began my journey of cleansing the darkness, the judgments, and the feelings of victimhood from within.  I became happy, enthusiastic and dare I say, “whole” again.

Out of that inner work sprung a new business which began as a seed to help myself. Over time, it led me to the most satisfying work of my life. Every day, I am deeply honored to give to others, to help others in a way I never dreamt possible. I am helping to make a positive difference in people's lives, which automatically gives back to make a greater difference in my life.

My sister passed away in 2018, after a tortured life at the age of 55.

She is my hero.  Her truth helped me find my own. She did that for me. She gave that to me.

Because of her, I lay my head on my pillow each night with a smile and shudder of enormous gratitude for the beauty and bounty of my life, and for the eternal gift of my sister, Valerie.
